Here are some cool things that are thirty:
Me. Thirty is the atomic number of zinc. Thirty Rock (love it). Thirty is the age of actors Adam Brody and Zooey Deschanel, both of whom I think are cool. Thirty years ago the Happy Meal was introduced by McDonalds.
Here are some cool things that happened the very week I was born in 1980:
May 18: Mount St. Helen's erupts (ok...so this isn't necessarily a "cool" thing, but it was memorable)
May 21: The Empire Strikes Back opened in theaters
May 22: Pac-Man arcade game is released
May 23: me
Here's how I spent my thirtieth birthday weekend:
Friday: Kid-less birthday party!! Dinner at the Bistro on Spruce with lots of wonderful friends and the hubs. Bowling at Triple Play. Cake, ice cream and Tetris at my friends' house until 1:00 am. (So tired, but SO FUN! I was a little sad this year about not being able to see my family on my birthday, but am so thankful for Brian and my amazing friends that made me feel so loved!)
Saturday: Soccer. Costco. Pizza and a netflix with the fam. Leftover birthday cake.
Sunday: (the big day) Church. Kids all napped. Prepped for the primary meeting. Primary meeting. Finished movie with hubs.
All in all, it was a wonderful birthday. And so far, thirty seems pretty great. So, thanks to all my friends and family for the birthday wishes! Good-bye twenties!
THIRTY.

Then & Now
I just took these snaps of Noah & Sloan on the porch yesterday. I can't believe how old they both look. And with their birthday's looming, it is making me a little sad. Noah turns FOUR next month and then Sloan's big TWO in July. I can't believe how fast they are growing up.
June 2008/May 2009/May 2010
(so, he pretty much looks the same, but so much older. Look at that little baby face in the first picture. Awwww... My favorite part...the smile stays the same.)
July 2008/July 2009/May 2010
(so this one is more obvious...babies change so much in a short time...but holy cow!! I guess now I have proof for myself that her hair has actually grown, despite my continued opinion that it hasn't grown even an inch. Yay!!).
And I didn't take any pictures of Kimball yesterday, but I'll throw in a comparison for him for good measure.
May 2008/May 2009/May 2010
(Wow. I can't believe how big my first baby is. He will be 7 in October. The picture from 2008 is him at the same age Noah is turning next month. And he's still growing and changing. The picture I took this May was for his 2nd tooth loss. What a big boy!! And handsome to boot!)
Oh, I love being a mother.

Hefty, Hefty, Hefty...then there's me.
I have been exercising as much as possible to try to become that modelesque fitness queen that I wish I was. And in my quest to exercise as often as possible, I have also made it my mission to diversify my workouts as much as I can. I am the type of person that gets bored quickly, so to do a treadmill or any one routine too often becomes monotonous. So, this week I have added an additional 3 or 4 classes to do besides my usualy morning workouts and weekly basketball night. Like Boot Camp on Tuesdays, Spin on Wednesdays, Step & Sculpt on Thursdays, and continue with my favorite Zumba every Friday. Good thought, right?
Today I went to Spin class for the first time...and....well....just about DIED!!! Holy crap. Are any of you familiar with Spin? You get on a bicycle and spin...quickly...for AN HOUR. I knew this going into the class. What I didn't know was what a WIMP I was. I got about 1/2 hour into it and excused myself from the class. I couldn't feel my butt. Or my legs. So, I am a little dissappointed (that's a little strong, but I couldn't think of a better word) with my whoosiness. I can do Zumba, basketball or even Boot Camp for an hour...but NOT spin. I am using the excuse that I went running this morning and was still tired by the time I got to spin. Maybe if I hadn't run this morning, I could've done better...but that is a very transparent and unlikely maybe. I also have told myself that I gave up easily as not to spoil my most beloved basketball that I get to play tonight. Yep...that must be it. Subcontiously I was protecting myself from sure dissappointment tonight on the basketball court had I finished the class. :) I guess I'll save my Wednesday mornings for running.
Next time you see me...
just kidding. You wish. :)

Weeeeeeeee!!!
Farewell El Nino! Bring on the sunshine! We bought a house with a pretty large backyard, so why not fill it with stuff to play with? :)
New toy #1:

Can I just say how much I have always wanted a trampoline? I LOVE it!!! I got it for myself as much as I did for my kids. And despite all the "warnings" of friends who have experienced some sort of catastrophie or other on theirs, I am overjoyed at our decision to get one. Great purchase!
New toy #2:
After getting the trampoline, I thought our yard wouldn't be complete without another large play contraption. This isn't exactly what I had in mind (I was thinking more along the lines of a wooden play structure, or good ol' fashioned metal swingset), but it is perfect. I got it off of CL for a great deal. The kids LOVE it and while Kimball might not get to enjoy it as long as he might a larger one (since it's made for kids up to age 8), I think we'll get many years of jolly-good times out of it. It has 2 swings, a slide and a playhouse underneath. Kills 3 birds with one very large plastic stone. Another bonus with this one...it looks good. I am so glad I didn't settle for that faded, paint-chipped, rusted, eye-sore WT metal one we also looked at that night. :)
Yay for summer fun! Now if we could just get some friends over here to enjoy them with us!! Hint...hint...
